We have updated the application process for the 2025–2026 admissions cycle. Letters of recommendation are no longer required. Instead, applicants must request professional recommendations using the standardized rating scale within the PharmCAS or PharmGRAD application.

NSU’s Barry and Judy Silverman College of Pharmacy uses centralized application systems. Applicants should apply electronically through PharmCAS for Pharm.D. programs or PharmGRAD for Ph.D. and master’s programs.

Applicants interested in the M.S. in Pharmaceutical Affairs (MSPA) who have already applied through PharmCAS do not need to submit a separate PharmGRAD application. Please complete the MSPA application only.

Application deadlines vary by program. Admissions are offered on a rolling basis, so we strongly encourage you to apply early to secure your spot.

PharmCAS and PharmGRAD require official transcripts (or foreign credential evaluations), professional recommendations, and proof of English proficiency. Once you submit your application, all required documents, and the application fee, the verification process typically takes 2–4 weeks.

After your application is complete, the admissions team conducts a holistic review. We consider academic factors such as GPA and coursework, as well as non-academic factors including your essays, experiences, recommendations, extracurricular involvement, and interest in the profession.

We believe it is important to review applicants as whole individuals, not just based on grades. Academic and non-academic factors are weighed, as they help us understand your potential impact on our campus, your leadership qualities, and your commitment to pharmacy.

If your background aligns with our program, you may be invited to a Zoom interview. Please note that interviews are not guaranteed for all applicants, and not all interviewed applicants are admitted. Final decisions after the interview may take up to two additional business weeks.

The Pharm.D. Entry-Level pathway is a four-year program for students beginning their pharmacy education. The Pharm.D. Advanced Standing pathway is a three-year program designed for international students. Both pathways lead to pharmacist licensure.

To apply for the Advanced Standing pathway, applicants must hold a pharmacy degree from a foreign university. Applicants who graduated from pharmacy school 10 or more years ago must also meet one of the following requirements:

  • Option A: Complete two upper-level (3000–4000 level) science courses in the U.S., or one upper-level science course and one upper-level statistics course, within the last 10 years; or
  • Option B: Show active practice as a licensed pharmacist for more than 50% of the time since graduation. Proof of employment, including dates and roles, must be provided in a letter from the employer.

You can find more information about the Pharm.D Entry Level program here, and more information about the Advanced Standing Program here.

While our institution does not offer application fee waivers or coupon codes, we would like to inform you about an alternative option through the Pharmacy College Application Service (PharmCAS).

PharmCAS provides a Fee Assistance Program that aims to support applicants who may face financial constraints during the application process. We encourage you to explore this opportunity to alleviate any financial concerns you may have. By clicking on the link below, you can access comprehensive details about the fee assistance program, including qualification requirements and the fee waiver process:

PharmCAS Fee and Fee Assistance Program Information

To ensure a smooth application process, please submit all admissions documents directly through PharmCAS.

After PharmCAS receives your official U.S. transcripts, they complete a course-by-course verification. This means they compare the courses on your transcripts with the courses you entered in the Transcript Entry section of your application.

This process helps ensure accuracy. If PharmCAS finds any differences, they will notify the programs you applied to. If there are several missing or incorrect entries, your application may be returned to you for corrections or clarification. To avoid delays, please enter all courses carefully and respond to any requests as soon as possible.

For more information about GPA calculations and grading rules, please visit the PharmCAS website.

The Fall 2025–2026 Academic Update (AU) window opens December 15, 2025, and closes February 13, 2026.

Applicants are responsible for submitting fall transcripts, adding new courses completed since the initial PharmCAS submission, and updating in-progress or planned courses.

Important Notes

  • You may update your course history only once during the Fall AU window.
  • Courses previously marked as completed cannot be changed, but new courses may be added.
  • GPAs are not updated until fall courses are verified.
  • Once transcripts are received and courses are verified, your status will change to “AU Verified,” and updated GPAs will appear in WebAdMIT.

Applicants may continue to add spring and summer courses at any time before the application cycle closes. Spring 2026 coursework will be verified, and GPAs updated, for accepted applicants who complete the Spring Academic Update by June 30.

Please note that letters of recommendation are no longer required for admission to our program. Instead, applicants must request professional recommendations through the PharmCAS / PharmGRAD standardized rating system as part of the application process.

These recommendations should be submitted directly through PharmCAS / PharmGRAD and may come from one of the following sources:

  • A Pre-Professional Committee letter
  • A professor familiar with your academic abilities
  • A healthcare professional or employer who can speak to your qualifications and potential in the field

It is important that this section is completed accurately and submitted by the appropriate individuals in order for your application to be reviewed. If you have any questions about this requirement or need assistance, please feel free to reach out.

In PharmCAS, you will be asked to select your campus preferences. This step is important so we can match your preferences with available space.

  • First and Second Choice: Please select both a first choice and a second choice campus.
  • Application Review: Your application will be reviewed based on your first-choice campus. Please note that space at each campus is limited.
  • Second-Choice Review: If your first-choice campus is full, we will contact you to ask if you would like to be considered for your second-choice campus.

Completing this section helps us process your application more efficiently and better accommodate your campus preferences.
