Experience Pharmacy School Before You Apply

Considering a career in pharmacy? SharkRX for a Day offers college students an immersive look at the Pharm.D. experience at Nova Southeastern University’s Barry and Judy Silverman College of Pharmacy.

Pharmacy is a dynamic profession with career opportunities in community practice, health systems, ambulatory care, specialty pharmacy, research, industry, public health, and leadership. Pharmacists play an essential role in managing medications, educating patients, preventing medication-related problems, and helping individuals manage chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension.

What Will You Experience?

During this full-day experience, you will meet with the admissions team, attend pharmacy classes, participate in a student organization event, tour the campus, shadow pharmacists at the NSU Health Pharmacy, and enjoy lunch with Dean’s Ambassadors. You will also complete a goal-setting activity.

SharkRX for a Day allows prospective applicants to experience the academic environment, connect with current students and faculty, and observe how pharmacists contribute to patient care. By the end of the program, you will have a clearer understanding of the Pharm.D. curriculum, the admissions process, pharmacy career pathways, and whether NSU is the right place to begin your journey.

Who Should Apply?
College students and graduates who have not yet been admitted to a Pharm.D. program and are considering pharmacy as a career. SharkRX is especially valuable if you want to experience pharmacy school firsthand before deciding whether a Pharm.D. is right for you.

What Does It Cost?
There is no cost to participate. Students are responsible for transportation to and from NSU's Davie/Fort Lauderdale campus, where the program is currently offered.

When Will My Visit Take Place?
