Christian Grillo, Pharm.D., CPh, is a pharmacy manager at Nova Southeastern University. Previously. Grillo was a psychiatric pharmacy resident who completed advanced training through the Nova Southeastern University Barry and Judy Silverman College of Pharmacy residency programs. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from Nova Southeastern University and completed his PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency, followed by a PGY-2 Psychiatric Pharmacy Practice Residency with extensive experience in adult, geriatric, child and adolescent, outpatient, and forensic psychiatric pharmacy practice. His clinical and teaching background includes inpatient psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, neurology, substance use, PTSD, managed care, ambulatory care, pharmacy operations, and psychopharmacology education for both pharmacy and psychology learners.
Grillo’s research centers on optimizing psychiatric medication therapy and improving safety outcomes in complex psychiatric populations, particularly within inpatient psychiatric hospital settings. His scholarly work includes anticholinergic burden, psychotropic medication stewardship, schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder pharmacotherapy, clozapine-related adverse effect management, long-acting injectable antipsychotic utilization, pharmacist-led quality improvement, and medication-related outcomes in patients with severe mental illness.
