Learn, Compete, Win: The RX Games

 RX Games

Prepare for an exhilarating experience at Nova Southeastern University's second annual RX Games, presented in collaboration with the NSU Pre-Pharmacy Society and the esteemed Barry and Judy Silverman College of Pharmacy. This annual student contest, held every spring, invites you to showcase your pharmacy knowledge, compete in health care-themed games, and connect with fellow students and faculty members.

  • Join forces with fellow students and immerse yourself in two thrilling games: MedMix and PharmPHRENZY.
  • Learn more about the incredible career opportunities available in the pharmacy world.
  • Connect with other pre-pharmacy students from colleges across South Florida and current pharmacy students at NSU.

How Do I Sign Up?

Students enrolled in a college or university are eligible to apply. Active membership in a student organization related to pharmacy, chemistry, biology, or any health-related field is required.

The RX Games planning committee evaluates applications on a rolling basis. Fifteen RX Games players per session are selected. It is recommended to apply early. Status notification will be sent one week after receiving your application.

Selected applicants will be asked to participate in a personality test, which will be used to divide participants into groups. The test can be found at this link.

How Do I Play?

The NSU College of Pharmacy faculty and Pharm.D. student coaches will start virtual training with the teams before the competition date. These experts will guide you through the competitions, assist with appealing to the panel of judges, and help you excel against the competition. You don’t require any specific training to compete; all you need is an open mind and a willingness to participate.

The RX Games present an incredible opportunity to learn and connect through our pharmacy challenges. With three teams in total, you’ll compete in the MedMix and PharmPHRENZY games, battling it out for victory.

What Can I Win?

All participants will get a wonderful NSU swag bag with lots of fun giveaways, and the winning team will receive a $75 Visa gift card for each team member.

It offers participants a unique opportunity to explore various aspects of healthcare in an interactive and engaging manner.

MedMix comprises a case study integrating a laboratory activity with a counseling component to evaluate participants' compounding and patient-centered care skills. Players are guided through the process of creating troches for a patient and subsequently explaining the procedure to them. Evaluation criteria encompass both the successful creation of the troches and the demonstration of soft skills throughout the interaction.
