About the Contemporary Pharmacy Issues Conference

The Contemporary Pharmacy Issues Conference was fashioned with a common theme, a theme that would challenge the speakers to challenge the pharmacists, pharmacy consultants and pharmacy technicians to consider their unique information, new tools and new ideas offered at this conference to enhance participant skills and knowledge in growing their careers and jobs and meeting tomorrow’s patientcare expectations.

The Role of Psychedelics in Patient Care

A physician will share an update on his patient care research, perhaps the most interesting field in drug therapy: psychedelics. Learn about how natural products such as magic mushrooms (Psilocybin) and mescaline, as well as lab products such as LSD, Ketamine, PCP, and Ecstasy, can end up in your patients’ therapy profile. As pharmacists, we need to know our role in the utilization of these drugs in our communities. Will they interact with regular medicines?

Pharmacists in Emergency Preparedness

A director/educator in Emergency Preparedness Management reviews opportunities that pharmacists have in emergency preparedness, including major roles as a Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT) pharmacist to the major responsibility of dispensing medications during emergency events. When you renew your pharmacy license, do you understand the question about wanting to serve in emergency preparedness?

Current Antimicrobial Research

A pharmacist researcher will address the topic of current antimicrobial research, where the therapeutic potential of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs), antibodies, and bacteriophages in antimicrobials will be assessed.

Chinese Herbal Medicine and Clinical Practice

Attendees in the Chinese Herbal Medicine program will gain actionable insights to improve clinical practice and advocate for the safe and effective use of Chinese herbal medicine. Have you thought about a source for their drug interactions?

The People’s Pharmacy Hour: A Special Feature

You will also be the guest on “The People’s Pharmacy Hour,” where the world’s most famous patient care advocates take on another pharmacist-focused and unique case of professional oversight. The subject doesn’t matter with the Graedons, as they always make their presentation top-notch.

Methylation Genetics and Sports Pharmacist Medicine

If you attend, you will be taught about methylation genetics and, more importantly, how to use it authoritatively in practice. You will learn about a new organization called “Sports Pharmacist Medicine” and its presence in healthcare. Is this another professional option?

HIV Therapy and the Super Drug

Starting Sunday morning, you will get an overview from one of the nation’s leaders within this specialty of HIV therapy, including information on a super drug.

Nutrition and Pharmacy: Addressing Digestive Health

Our resident CE nutritionist expert brings her world of nutritional knowledge into pharmacy’s world. For this conference, she will cover the complexities of GERD, constipation, and IBD.

Cardiovascular Disease Treatment Updates

In “Keeping Up with the Heart,” you will hear about treatment recommendations in current coronary artery disease (CAD) and peripheral arterial disease (PAD) guidelines and how to design appropriate pharmacotherapeutic care plans when managing patients diagnosed with CAD and PAD. This will justify the role of the pharmacist on the healthcare team in managing patients with CAD and PAD.

The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Pharmacy

You won’t want to miss the presentation regarding the impact that artificial intelligence (AI) will have on the profession of pharmacy and how you need to understand the emerging technologies and the professional influencers that are changing our patients’ behaviors.

The 2025 36th Annual Contemporary Pharmacy Issues Conference was planned and designed for all pharmacy leaders, including consultants, practitioners, educators, and pharmacy technicians.
