2024 Fall Classic

Target Audience

The 2024 NSU Fall Classic is planned and designed for all pharmacy leaders, including consultants, practitioners, educators and pharmacy technicians.

Overall Meeting Goal

The NSU Fall Classic Conference was fashioned with a common theme, a theme that would challenge the speakers to challenge the pharmacists, pharmacy consultants and pharmacy technicians to consider their unique information, new tools and new ideas offered at this conference to enhance participant skills and knowledge in growing their careers and jobs and meeting tomorrow’s patient care expectations.

Saturday, November 2, 2024  

8:00 a.m – 11:10 a.m.
Hallmarks of Aging: Biomarkers & Treatments Mitch Ghen, D.O., Ph.D. will describe how the entrepreneur pharmacist can utilize new diagnostic tools and nutrients in advancing positive aging patient care through therapeutic strategies.
11:10 a.m. – 12:10 p.m.
Mail Order Medicine Safety Joe & Teresa Graedon will discuss who oversees temperature guidelines for mail-order medicine: the FDA, the sender, the shipper, NABP, and review cases of patients unable to access their medications safely.
1:00 p.m. 
16th Annual Stephanie Feldman Aleong “National Patient Safety Award” Presentation & Lecture
General Lester Martinez-Lopez M.D. discuss his role as principal advisor to the Secretary of Defense and the Undersecretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness for all Department of Defense health and force health protection policies, programs, and activities.
2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. 
The Future of Wellness: Trends & Opportunities for Pharmacists in 2025
Kimmi Le, Pharm.D. will address the top wellness trends anticipated for 2025 that will impact pharmacy practice.
3:10 p.m. – 4:10 p.m.
Examining “Just Culture” as an Effective Tool in Handling Health Care Issues and Errors.
Thomas Brickenden J.D., R. Ph., C.Ph will address the fundamental leadership responsibilities in establishing and maintaining a workplace justice for Just Culture safety providing a framework for open dialogue and continuous process improvement to prevent medication errors.
4:10 p.m. – 5:10 p.m.
The Health Impact of 5G Technology
Antonella Carlozzi, Pharm.D. brings one of the most fascinating topics that you do not see in healthcare programs, yet one of the most important issues to keep an eye on. She will address the international 5G technology controversial standards using research documents that outline potential neurological damage, psychiatric problems & cancer that pharmacists should be aware of.

Fees and Registration

The registration fee for this two-day program is $210 for pharmacists and $115 for pharmacy technicians. There are one-day options available in the registration section.

Refund Policy

A refund can be requested in an email format (to carsten@nova.edu) prior to Saturday, November 2, 2024. Your registration fee less $15.00 will be credited to the same card.

NSU's Barry and Judy Silverman College of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. This program is approved for up to ACPE 15.0 contact hours (1.5 CEUs), as well as, Consultant Re-Certification (12 hours). The Provider, NSU College of Pharmacy, will report all earned continuing education (CE) credits for this program to CE Broker for those pharmacists who provide their correct pharmacist license numbers. For those with multiple state licenses and who provide proper credentials, the Provider will report credits earned to CPE (NABP).
