Golden Apple Award Nomination

The Golden Apple Award (see the poster here)is given annually to a faculty member who has demonstrated excellence and/or innovation in teach in the Doctor of Pharmacy program.  Individuals selected to receive this award achieve distinction through outstanding efforts in the following areas:

  • Communicating course material clearly, concisely, and effectively
  • Promoting student learning and critical thinking skills through various pedagogical approaches
  • Demonstrating enthusiasm for course material and student success
  • Fostering student success through activities inside and outside the classroom
  • Designing and implementing innovative courses
  • Making significant improvements to existing courses
  • Supporting the educational excellence of colleagues and the spirit of

It is that time of year to nominate a faculty member (one per class) to be recognized for achieving excellence.  Please submit your nomination using the nomination form.

Once nominations are closed, The Golden apple nominees for each class shall be posted on-line and only-line voting shall commence, March 15th.  Students may only vote for an individual nominated by a member of their class (e.g., P1 students may only vote for a candidate nominated by a member of the P1 class).  Students will have until April 1st to cast their on-line votes.

Yearbook 2009: Pre-sale Announcement

NSU COP yearbook staff is very excited to announce that we are starting the yearbook pre-sale (see the poster here). 

You can order your yearbook NOW till  Feb 14th from your class historian.  If you don't know who they are please look at the bottom of this announcement for their name and email information. This year the yearbook will have a few new features, such as teacher of the year, superlatives, senior ads, and much more.

The books are $20.00 this year and will help us fund for the end of the year banquet. You are welcome to bring cash, make a check out to NSU COP ( for: yearbook) or print out a credit card form and give it to your class historian.

You will soon be nominating students from your class for the superlatives so start thinking who you want to nominate for:

  1. Most known to be M.I.A.
  2. Most likely to win a Nobel Prize ( most likely to succeed) 
  3. Most studious
  4. Best professional attire (1 boy/ 1 girl)  (best dressed)
  5. Best all around
  6. Class clown
  7. Most outgoing
  8. Most likely to end up on Time Magazine
  9. Microphone addict
  10. Miss Congeniality

These are awaiting approval from administration. Once they are approved, your class officers will let you know.

Seniors, as always, will receive a complementary book as their graduation memento; therefore, I hope everyone takes the opportunity to give them the spotlight by buying them space. 

You are welcome to buy an ad for one of your senior friends to show your excitement! If you are part of organization you can buy space on behalf of the organization to congratulate your senior officers and members also. Please see the senior ad letter that contains all the details on how to purchase an ad. The possibilities are endless so get creative!!!
